1. Introduction
ScanSkip ("we", "our", "us") operates a corporate training marketplace connecting institutional buyers ("Clients") with freelance trainers ("Trainers"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information about you when you use the ScanSkip platform, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information from third parties.

- Profile information: designation, company or organisation details, city and state, biography, skills, rates, availability, portfolio links, work history, and profile photos.
- Verification (KYC) documents: government-issued IDs (e.g. PAN, Aadhaar), GST documents, company/employee IDs, resumes, and certificates — collected only to verify identity and credentials.
- Booking and transaction data: training requests, budgets, payment status, invoice records, and communications related to engagements.
- Usage data: pages visited, interactions, device type, browser, IP address, and log data.
- SMS/OTP data: phone numbers used for one-time-password verification and engagement notifications.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve the Services, including to:
- Create and manage your account and verify your identity.
- Process, match, and manage training requests, offers, bookings, and payments.
- Send transactional messages — OTPs, booking updates, and payment notifications — via SMS, email, or in-app notifications.
- Display verified badges, ratings, reviews, and performance statistics on public trainer profiles.
- Moderate reviews and content, and investigate suspected fraud, misuse, or violations of our Terms.
- Improve our platform through analytics, research, and product development.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
4. Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We disclose information only as necessary to operate the Services and as required by law:
- To Trainers and Clients: profile details, contact information, and engagement information necessary to complete bookings you have consented to.
- To service providers: SMS gateways, payment processors, hosting providers, and analytics tools that process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards.
- To authorities: where required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- In business transitions: in connection with a merger, sale, or transfer of all or part of our business.
5. Data Retention & Security
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We implement reasonable technical and organisational safeguards — including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure storage — to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing activities. You can update most account and profile information directly through the platform. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@scanskip.com.
7. Cookies & Tracking
We may use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Services are used. You can configure your browser to refuse cookies; some features may not function properly without them.
8. Third-Party Services
The Services rely on third-party providers for SMS delivery, payments, and file hosting. These providers process your information under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review their policies before sharing data with them.
9. Children's Privacy
The Services are intended for use by businesses and professionals aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
